Notes Extractor is a software solution destined to companies who are migrating their Lotus Notes applications from the Lotus Notes / Domino platform towards Web groupware applications such as Microsoft SharePoint and Google Apps.

Notes Extractor automatically converts the data in Lotus Notes applications into HTML files, an open format that can be used to integrate the same data in a new environment. For each databases three files are created, an HTML file with the text, an XML file which includes all the document-related information retrieved during NRPC access, and a third file containing all the attached documents and images.

Notes Extractor guarantees NO DATA LOSS, Data integrity and an extremely fast conversion process from .nsf to HTML. 50 to 100 times more efficient than manual handling, this software tool is essential for a successful migration.

AUTOMATIC & FAST : With Notes Extractor the migration process is extremely fast, making it possible to test the results, and in case of any problem modify the documents in Notes and repeat the process to obtain a better result in sharePoint without penalizing project duration.

CONFIGURABLE & FLEXIBLE : Notes Extractor can be configured in order to select the documents to include or exclude from the process and limit the export of visual information using custom masks.

DATA INTEGRITY : Notes Extractor provides the guarantee of NO DATA LOSS, all the Dynamic components of the Notes databases, such as sections and tables are fully migrated.

The Notes Extractor process :

1. Reads the database to be archived via the Notes protocol, in order to identify the list of documents to convert.

2. Creates a temporary document, possibly from a custom form which is located in Notes Extractor and specified in the configuration document. This local document will be processed for a first time, particularly to specify inter document links. The local HTTP task will then allow to retrieve the linked HTML code, which will also be processed, as well as the linked images. If the document includes attached files, the software will retrieve them (in direct NRPC Notes access), and to detach them to the hard disk.

3. HTML files and linked resources (images, attached files) are extracted to the computer hard disk in the appropriate folders.

4. In addition to HTML files matching the Notes documents, the software generates an XML file which includes document-related information retrieved during NRPC access.
